Final Fantasy Main Story RP ARC VII

Reno barely registered the announcement as the wing excruciatingly slowly tore through his skin and clothing, unfurling slowly, a small spatter of blood droplets christening the wall. His other wing immediately appeared again, stretching out so that the pair spanned the room. A fleeting thought at the back of his mind thought that it would have probably been a more impressive display if it wasn't so common for people to sprout wings those days.

He leant against the window panting, the wings slowly folding in but not disappearing as he didn't have the strength or presence of mind to want it. With a dizzy sway he managed to turn to Tseng, stumbling forward a little and his hands grasping Tseng's shoulders to keep him upright.

He gave a soft smile as he gently brushed away a light smudge of blood from his cheek where the feathers must have knocked him. "Sorry," he apologised, his hand lingering. "I couldn't stop screaming long enough to warn you - I hope I didn't hit you too hard?"

He paused for a moment, not really waiting for an answer before leaning in a little more and kissing him softly, lingering for a moment before pulling back a little and resting his forehead on Tseng's.

"Look, we both know that things are going to get crazy - and either you or I, or both of us will go crazy too... So... no matter what happens, just remember that. Remember this," he murmured kissing him again. "Because it might be shit timing but then with this job there's really never a good moment to admit you're madly in love with your boss." He paused. "You boss, not Rufus boss - before you get confused and assume weird things." He gave a grin and let go of him, stepping back a little.

"I get it if you don't feel the same way... but some things need to be said, yo. Some things shouldn't be bottled up and afraid of. After all, there's only two ways it goes - either you feel the same or you don't... and either way I think we're friends enough to be able to move on from here, whichever direction that might be in."

He bit his lip as he fell silent, his new wing giving a nervous twitch.

"You talk now," he prompted lightly.

When the queasiness had finally stopped Denzel pulled himself up and stumble back to the bed. Eyes shut as he tried to will away the pain. His head was still spinning and it felt like he could pass out at any second. At that moment he was really wishing he did.

Without a sound the young teen faceplanted onto the bed and buried his face into the pillow. There was a groan as he tried his hardest to ignore the pain. It was like ignoring it during the worst days of his Geostigma when he was sent to bed when the fevers were too high and his entire body ached, the white cloth drenched black from his forehead that leaked the black ooze at heavy volumes.

It was during those nights that he cried the hardest, haunted by fever dreams and Marlene never left his bedside. She just stayed by him through the night, rather than listen to his stiffled cries of pain when she pretended to be asleep.

Denzel rolled over, his body heated, and he reached for his jacket. There was a chill that ran through his spine but his body was overheated and finally he laid back down. Stripping off his shirt he crawled under the sheet and tried to make himself sleep.

Rufus had said to rest. Maybe that would be a good idea so his head stopped pounding. Maybe he just needed sleep, then he would stop hearing the sounds of the airship banging in his head, his own heartbeat echoing in his ears. Everything seemed to be slightly sharper and clearer.

It had to be because he was feeling so sick. The sheen of sweat covered his body and Denzel stripped down to his boxers, just curling up under the sheet.

Hot cold hot cold. It was a constant switch back and forth, Finally he settled just under the sheet and the sweat sent a shiver through his body. Eyes shut and he let a fitful sleep take him with one thought on his mind.

Cloud... does it always hurt this much?

There was a beep from the PHS on his belt and Sephiroth lifted it up to see the message. So Genesis was still inside, at least he was alive. Another glance was given towards Zack once again before returning a message back to Genesis.

If you are going to remain get Cloud out. There are at least two copies of Jenova within this building, one is in my form with my weapon. Don't get yourself killed.

The sequence of events, as per the next several moments, causes a rather dull and stern expression to plaster itself across her features. The coloration of her eyes grows dull and the wide round shape created within the negative space of her lids falls into a deadpan slit. She inhales in deep agitation as her arms rise to rest upon one another and her hands grasp opposing elbows.

“It only took moments,” she mutters to herself; “mere moments.”

In such time her, here to, finest soldier had managed to fall to arrogance and, subsequently, his defeat and her only grandchild has been snatched away from her embrace. She taps her left index finger as she wonders upon what has transpired.
The sequence of events as per the next several moments, however, causes a rather grim and stern expression to wretch away the softness of her features as it is overwhelmed by the vice grip of anger and frustration. Three slivers of light within the confines of her conscious waver erratically before intentionally blinking out, the likes of which correspond to her raven son, her temperamental son, and, much to her surprise and chagrin, that of her grandson.

Standing beside the counter, she continues to tap her finger as blood torrents from the gapping shotgun wounds from her torso and her left thigh; her efforts to subdue her temper quickly slipping into the abyssal failure as her id grins and waves while chanting, “Nice try” in the recesses of her mind.

She deeply breathes the still air of the laboratory; failure. The skin of her ears is now flush and deep crimson.
Her lips contort and spit out mantras that failure is merely a stepping stone toward experience and, eventually, success; failure. Her breath is now ragged and harsh, her chest undulating wildly as her blood boils.

Her eyes flutter upward and her lids close to shield them from the sterile lighting of the room as she attempts to meditate; mild success. Her pulse slowly begins to lower; however, a slight ping registers within her as her grandson’s light begins to resonate. With bated breathe she focuses upon his energy and the cold harsh realization of his betrayal becomes evident.

“He is tracking me,” she screams as the stress of various betrayals from the past several days comes to a head once more.

Something snaps.

A cold sweat builds from the pores of her pale skin as her face rapidly shifts through a disconcerting spectrum of reds before settling upon a shade which closely resembles a strawberry at the peak of its ripening. She looses a guttural and enduring scream from a long though unreachable place within her broken soul.

Sidestepping the blonde’s massive weapon the woman endures the defensive as she permits the man his assault. The silver haired doppelganger springs forth through the broken window as the green glow of the curative magic dissipates from his being and charges with the masamune sword, it steel flashing wildly in the natural light of the open portal before it stops dead in space. The scream reaches the ears of all present as the doppelganger lowers his weapon in confusion and looks toward Cloud. The present clone attempts to sync with the various units scattered about the grounds and a bead of sweat falls from her forehead as the situation dawns upon her, a feral clone.

Her being seemingly wavers between corporeal and intangible for several moments as her body churns to produce armor.
Springing from her point of dress she swings a hefty punch toward the blonde’s face before kicking toward the unguarded general with her right leg as she balances upon her left.

The feral clone steams with darkness as it warps the space around her. Her previously modern matronly dress alters to a somewhat revealing black bodysuit accompanied by her scarf and gauntlets with red sharp pointed fingers. She screams as though several voices battle for control of her breath and vocal cords before launching herself upward through the top of the building. Smoke and debris billows through the air as she emerges through the floor of the helipad and the eyes of her hunched figure rage with a deep garnet emission. She seemingly stops within the air for several lingering moments before she propels herself forward toward the Shera; landing with a heavy impact that dents the metal around her imposing figure.

No matter how dizzy he was, the sudden realization that Jenova was moving threw Denzel to his feet. He pulled his clothes on and rushed towards the door to the room. The door slammed open and he hurried towards the room next door. No Rufus, just Zack, chained to the bed. Denzel was breathing heavily but once he saw the cuffs his face suddenly burned red. He had lived in the bar, heard the drunkards talk and slowly he opened his mouth and then shut it again.

"I'll... I'll go find Rufus..." he finally managed to say as he stared down and took a breath.

"What is it?"

Denzel's toe stubbed at the ground as he stared at the floor but then the airship shook. He reached out and caught himself as he was thrown off his feet. He hit the ground hard with a groan and rubbed his bottom. Her presence seemed like a pounding in his head, but maybe that was just the mako. "She's here!"

He looked up as he saw the General stand from the bed and pick up the Buster Sword. "Zack, I'll send Rufus in to watch both of you. I need to borrow this."

(headache pms and inability or want to actually move from bed let alone switch accounts has me doing another 2n1 sorry y'all)


"Thanks." No sooner had he said those words Seph's phone had beeped. Then Denzel came bursting into the room.
The ship shook for a moment like the ground it was on rocked. Zack could feel her so close and he closed his eyes.
That lull to her mere presence sent an uncontrolled shiver through his body.
Perhaps it was best that he did just give into her, in allowance that the others be allowed to escape.
He shook his head, his thought process was becoming jumbled again his perceptions of right and wrong becoming fuzzy.

The cells throbbed as he felt her anger and he hissed, his body jerked for the moment.
His body reacting to her location wanting to join her. He let out a string of curses as the chains rattled against the struggles.
"Do what you have to do Seph." Zack gasped. "Probably best I don't wield it for a while. I think we need to make sure she doesn't get Denzel."
The only part of himself he could control at that moment... his own mouth, his mind would fall next he knew it.
"I don't want Cloud mad at me anymore. Take Denzel to Rufus. These restraints are property of ShinRa, he has got to have the keys."
Zack gave Denzel an apologetic look. "Best that both Denzel and Rufus are not in the same room with me."

Zack didn't want to say that Rufus couldn't watch them, but it was probably best he didn't either.
He clenched his fists, he could feel her. She was so mad, and part felt guilt for letting his own arrogance take over him.
He had really believed he could have taken on Seph. That part was also as confused as his other part.
Despite it all he was just over all confused. The cells turned again as her distance lessened.
Each meter that she got closer, his body jolted as if the cells were excited to be within her grasp.
Zack sucked in a breath. He could only pray that the chains would remain to hold him here.

Rufus had only just stepped onto the bridge of the Shera to look for Cid. The pilot for once... wasn't there.
They needed to take off and they needed to move now before Jenova destroyed this ship and Reeve talked him into paying for a version 3.0.
"Damnit where is that pilot." He knew though taking Zack was a risk. It would have been like back in the day if she had a body and they took Sephiroth she would have come. Zack was hers whether he wanted to believe it or not.
The rational side of his brain knew he should have left him. But the hurt on Cissnei's face had made him do the opposite.

Rufus stepped off the bridge grabbing an employee of Cid's and slamming him up against the wall.
"Tell me he's not on a damn tea break. We need to get this thing off the air and now before this ship becomes scrap metal!"
The employee held up his hands. Rufus had given him a scare which made him feel a little better.
"S-Sorry but nutin comes betw'n da capt'n n his tea.... n I mean nutin'."
Dropping the employee to the ground. Rufus let out a controlled breath.

Rufus was loosing his patience more and more lately since Reno had infected him.
Not only did the strength remain with the cure but the short fuse as well.
He could no longer keep his anger in check and he would have to work on that before he broke something...

Sephiroth's touch to his shoulder cause a shudder to run through him.
There was that feeling again, that want and he found his face heating up.
That's when he knew she was close. The need for proving her love to Seph.
That was mixed with his own confusion of what he wanted... it just kinda burst inside him.

Those words of him fighting Jenova Zack could only nod to before Sephiroth was gone.
Thankfully his friend listening and he took Denzel and the buster sword with him.
Zack let out a breath as he closed his eyes. This way no one would get hurt if he was left alone.
Zack lay there on the bed shaking for a moment it had been there that need to-
Zack shook his head. "No bad Zack bad." he thumped his head back against the pillow.

Seph was a friend he couldn't not let his mind wander to said friend not when it would hurt others.

Lying there each rotation of the cells caused his body to burn, that was how he knew she was mad.
The immense heat of the cells burning underneath his skin.
How could he fight something that coursed through his veins? That was a part of him as much as his own beating heart.
Sucking in a breath he knew he couldn't... not unless he got a cure.
The other part inside him scolded him for the mere thought of betraying her.

Rufus saw Sephiroth and he caught the teenager as the boy was thrust at him.
Sephiroth ordering him to watch the teenager. Under normal circumstances Rufus would have said no.
But he understood. Jenova. Keep the boy from her.
"Do what you need to. I will find a way to get this thing in the air, even if I have to throw it there myself."

After Sephiroth left. Rufus looked to Cissnei and Dark Nation.
"I think we should get this ship in the air and now."
