The Coffee Shop (Open RP!) [M-Allowed] [Remade in Current Yaoi Board]

Premise: On one of the corners of Midgar, next to the ShinRa building, a small cafe resides. While they do serve an arrangement of coffee, they also have many pastries, sweets, cookies and cupcakes -- as well as sandwiches and whatever the hell you want, really. It's an RP. This RP is OPEN to everyone (even female characters are allowed to make an appearance in here, but please do remember it is the yaoi thread), and mature content is allowed (even recommended, hurhurhurhur). This is just to have fun and get some yaois, but it can be serious if the RP takes that path. Go with the flow. <3

(Cloud is Crisis Core Cloud in this RP)

The sixteen year old blond seemed to be softly humming to himself as he slowly wiped the circular glass table with a white rag. Today was a good day. It was a Tuesday, but a quiet Tuesday. There wasn't much business to deal with today. A few of the usual customers had come in, but that was about it. He finished wiping down the table and walked over to the sink. He washed it and hummed, before placing it to dry. He leaned over the counter and zoned out, not paying too much attention to anything in particular.

He continued humming to himself, seemingly lost in thoughts.

Logic told him he shouldn't keep coming. No, the great General of Shinra did not purchase sweets and he most certainly did not do so just to catch a look at the young blond that worked there. It was unlike him, however there always seemed to be an excuse, or at least he could rationalize it away. As he approached the counter Sephiroth looked down upon the boy.

He was a teen, but with the blond hair and brilliant blue eyes it seemed he was consistently distracted by him. It was unacceptable, and Sephiroth was certain that he would never logically live it down if Genesis discovered it.

Cloud was playfully distracted for only a minute longer until he stopped humming and looked up. His cheeks lightly flushed red, and he smiled. "Hey,"

Damnit Cloud, think of something better to say! This was Sephiroth -- GENERAL SEPHIROTH. And all he could say was a 'hey'? Why didn't he just shoot himself now? He tried to find more words but stammered a little, "U-um, what can I get for you?" He smiled again. Okay, the General pretty much ordered the same thing everytime. He had a feeling he knew what it would be, but he asked anyway.

What if he came off as an idiot? Oh Shiva, no!

"A coffee and a raspberry scone," it was always the same every day when he came in. Though it seemed no one question why he of all people was in this small shop. He didn't really come here for the coffee or the food, no, the truth was he came to see the young blond. Yes, he was certain Genesis and Angeal would have a field day with this if he was ever discovered.

It was appreciated that he always asked, that would stretch out the conversation. And here he was, acting like a fool, it was unheard of from him. Had it been anyone else he would have already bedded him, but there was something about the blond that he couldn't seem to do just that.

If this was ever discovered Sephiroth could only hope it never reached the ears of the Silver Elite Fanclub. Perhaps he truly was a fool, sneaking around like this instead of taking it head on. It was unheard of. But this was not a battle, there was no easy solution to this. How stupid, the great hero acting like some idiot with a crush. Perhaps it would be best to have this checked out by the doctors. It was not normal.

Cloud chuckled, "Just take a seat and it'll be out in a moment."

He quickly turned around and went to make the coffee. Oh you stupid-idiot-moron-retard, talk to him! Cloud began preparing the coffee and turned back for a moment, "You take it black, right? And do you want the scone heated up?" He asked politely. He knew the answer. Why was he asking? There was no need to ask.

It was painfully obvious since he already started turning on the mini-oven to heat the scone.

"Always gotta ask," he quickly thought of a way to make himself seem less like an idiot.

"Yes on both accounts," Sephiroth said as he turned away. It was short as ever, however for this moment there was at least this. He could speak with him without anything becoming suspicious. "It is fine," he said as he waved a hand.

He was able to speak with him, even if it was only to give his order. He watched Cloud for a long moment before he forced himself to look away. This could not continue, not if he wanted to save face. These emotions he did not understand. They confused him, however for now he could not focus on that.

Cloud seemed to be getting more comfortable as he began humming again. He warmed up the scone and made the coffee, finding plates and everything for everything. The blond took a deep breath before picking up the tray and moving over to the General. "One raspberry scone, warmed up, and one coffee -- taken black." He set it down and looked up at him. He suddenly realised he forgot to ask for any gil, and before he could think of something smart to say, he blurted out, "Don't worry about paying, it's on the house."

Cloud gave a sincere smile. "You come here so often, you deserve a free one."

THAT would so be coming out of his pocket... but then again, he would pay tenfolds just to say he bought General Sephiroth a coffee. But it was more than just Sephiroth being The Great Sephiroth. It was the way he sat, sipped his coffee, the air around him. Something so admirable about his personality -- away from his fame and glory and reputation.

Sephiroth lifted his head and he watched Cloud for a moment. "If you give every committed customer free items you will be losing rather a great deal of money."

If it were true that this was merely because of the amount of gil he spent there he could dismiss it. He could remind himself that to Cloud he was nothing more than the great hero and a loyal customer. Even if it was not that those who 'loved' him were aplenty. He was a hero, however that did not mean anyone truly knew him. Yes perhaps a few did, but love was something he could never understand.

It was something that others felt, not him.

"Well the shops not losing any money," he explained with a small blush. "I'm not the owner, so on the house means it's actually on me. So, think of it as my treat. You're just a nice customer." He moved behind the counter, trying to find something to follow up on it with. "You just come in, polite and stuff, and you put a smile on my face, is all." Okay, now he was smiling, blushing and looking like an idiot. He went back to wiping the back counter, as if that had anything to do with anything. It was spotless, he was probably making it dirty.

Sephiroth's eyes caught the blush, and his mind focused on that. Certainly no one would do such a thing just because he was polite. His mind focused on that and saw the large smile and the way the blush deepened. Yes, most certainly there was something more there, but as far as he knew Cloud was just like the rest.

Sephiroth lifted his coffee and slowly sipped at it. He would have to end this before it got worse. He took another sip as he turned back towards Cloud.

He needed to know the real reason, then perhaps he could solve this problem. This need to constantly see the boy, and the confusion that accompanied it. He had no time for this need to constantly see the boy.

Cloud officially felt like an idiot.

He blabbed too much. The blond kept distracting himself with non-existent tasks.

Talk to him, do it, somehow.

But Cloud stayed silent, he couldn't bring himself to gain the courage that was requisite for the task. Instead, he leaned over the front counter and grabbed a notepad. He just began doodling, not doing anything in particular. He was NEVER going to end up with Sephiroth. Never. And he could bet that no one got as much time of being in the same room as Sephiroth as Cloud did.

There was nothing more, the conversation far too short for Sephiroth's liking, however when it came to actually speaking with Cloud he was at a loss. He had been raised within Shinra, trained for battle. He was a warrior, and none of that training prepared him for needing to converse with others. It was not a skill he had been trained in as there was never a need. Even when he had become a general his contact with others was limited to what was needed.

Civilians were just not people he ever spoke with, and the art of conversation was well beyond him. When what was needed of him was apparent there was no difficult, however this was small talk, meaningless for him.

No matter how hard his friends may have tried to teach him it it was a failure.

Strike a conversation, he thought to himself. It's not that hard, he pursed his lips. His doodles were boring. He ripped off the page and threw it in the trash. Just say something.

"How's the coffee? And the scone?" Cloud asked with a smile.

"They are good," Sephiroth turned back towards him as he placed down the mug of coffee. What more could he say? It felt awkward, sitting there like that. Conversation was most certainly not his strong point. He placed down the scone after he took another bite. He turned and his eyes were locked on Cloud for a long moment. He grew tired of this, this confusion. It needed to end once and for all.

There was only one thing he could do, and that was to find the solution to this.

He needed to have the boy.

Cloud made eye contact while they talked and his cheeks kept the blush that was on before, "I'm glad." He smiled sincerely. He was completely oblivious to the shift in desires in Sephiroth's eyes and went back to doodling, humming again. he gave a light chuckle as he was completely distracted. It was only the ding of an oven that made him come back to reality. He tugged on his ~~pink~~ light red apron, put on his oven mits, and opened the oven.

He pulled out a tray of cupcakes and placed them to cool, humming as he fanned them with his mittens.

Zack always knew when it was cupcake time at the cafe. It was the same time everyday.
He'd normally arrive two hours after they were cooked, but today he had time to kill.
Plus he was on the run from Genesis.
Angeal had mentioned he was being driven mental by loveless to to help his mentor out he hid said book.
Of course he had just escaped from Genesis and was now on the run.

Zack ducked into the cafe quickly and ran up to the counter he grabbed the blonde.
"CLOUDY! Got anywhere to hide?!" He shook him.
It was then SOLDIER training kicked in... delayed of course.
Zack stopped suddenly and looked over his shoulder at Sephiroth sitting there.
"Er not that I've done anything to irritate any of your friends or anything... um sir."

The blond had barely made it to the counter when the sound of Zack barging in made him look up. The feeling of being rattled like a doll's toy suddenly made his eyes go wide, "I, uh, I ahhhh!" He just kind of screamed in response. He then proceeded to very quickly, stop, crouch and cover his head. He curled up for about a second until he realised how moronic his reaction was. He carefully came up from behind the counter and hid behind the till.

The sound of Angeal's puppy's loud voice suddenly caught Sephiroth's attention and he lifted his head, though he was on his feet as soon as Cloud started yelling and hid. His eyes locked on Zack instantly and he crossed the distance as he looked over. "Are you harmed Cloud?"

It was an automatic response, one he would ask any civilian who had been through an ordeal, or in this case shaken by an overly exuberant puppy with mako fueled strength.

"Then why exactly do you seek to hide?"

Sephiroth wasn't even quite sure he wanted to know just what he had gotten himself into. He stared down at Zack for a moment and placed a hand against the counter. He would not reach out to touch Cloud, not after Zack had probably scared the boy out of his wits. No doubt any attempt to grasp him would likely frighten the boy.

Zack cringed looking up at Sephiroth and looked to the side and rubbed behind his head.
He couldn't lie to Seph really, he'd tried in the past and it just kinda failed bad...
Last time he'd tried his excuse had been aliens in cow suits stolen his training sword.
"I was helping Angeal out honesty." Zack exclaimed his arms flailing about.
"He couldn't seem to focus on training me today cause Genesis had been on another loveless rant so I... hid loveless..."
Zack looked down. "I was going to feed it to Dark Nation but Genesis caught me with it so I kinda hide it and ran."
He cleared his throat. "It's not like he doesn't have a ka-zillion copies anyway!" He flailed more.

Cloud proceeded to hide behind the till, not coming out of his fortress.

At least it seemed that Zack had learned something after the last incident. The deathly serious general had not been able to accept that there was any sort of truth in his last excuse and he had dealt with it as he saw fit. However this one at least started better. As the story spilled out Sephiroth dropped his head slightly and his hair fell around him. A sound escaped that he was certain that Zack nor Cloud had ever heard from his lips, though Angeal and Genesis certainly had.

It was a soft deep laugh, one that could be easily missed as the General was not one to ever allow such a reaction before anyone but his friends. It was a husky sound and finally it quieted.

Sephiroth lifted one hand and placed the glove against the teen's shoulder. "I do not see fit to punish you for such an action. If you are able to destroy even one copy I will see fit to thank you."

With that said he turned back to look towards Cloud.

Cloud looked between the two, tense as could be. When Sephiroth actually turned to look at him, he blushed again and looked away. "S-so a friend of y-yours really likes Loveless?" He didn't even know that these two knew each other, let alone had mutual friends, who liked Loveless. Cloud suddenly decided that revealing his adoration for how the infinite mystery is the gift of the Goddess and how ripples form on the water's surface as the wandering soul knows no rest. That would probably not score him many points, at all. Still somewhat hiding behind the till, he looked back to see if the cupcakes were cooled.

Zack was confused for a moment... Sephiroth was... laughing?
He was willing to thank him if he could destroy a copy?
That was just to tempting. Plus Zack had seen Genesis' Loveless collection.
It was mind blowingly scary obsessive to the point where someone needed a mental check up.

"Wait thanks?" Zack asked he looked to Seph's hand on his shoulder.
'OMG he touched me!' It was what his head screamed.
He flashed a grin a Seph.
"Sooooooo what kinda thanks we talking here? Pay rise thanks? A pass that will get me out of Angeal's training for a week? Ooooor perhaps a movie ticket to that all so awesome, smash em dead 'monster trucks vs zombie vampires from outerspace'!? THAT LOOKS SOOO AWESOME!"

For any of the above Zack was willing to put his life on the line to destroy Genesis's Loveless book
He was totally unaware to the look Seph was giving Cloud at the moment.
He was too caught up in the ideas of destroying loveless...
Then he smelt the cupcakes. "Oooh hey Cloudy can I get one of those and frosted please?"

Sephiroth was looking at him, with that look. Zack was talking about monster trucks and zombies -- and burning Loveless. Sephiroth was touching Zack's shoulder. Oh Bahamut, he had no idea what the hell was going on. When Zack turned to him and asked for a cupcake, he only had one reply.

"YES!" He yelled obnoxiously loud and turned away, putting as much distance between those two and himself as he could. He grabbed one of the cupcakes carefully. Seeing that it was cool, he pulled it out and placed it on a small plate. He soon grabbed his own, homemade, frosting and carefully applied it on, using a frosting knife to smooth it out.

He proceeded to add sprinkles and small chocolate flakes and a few tiny marshmallows, followed by chocolate drizzle.

The blond grabbed the plate and placed it in front of them, next to the till. "50 Gil, put it on the counter."

He officially made a fool of himself. Cloud turned back and went into the 'employee's only' room.

Sephiroth noticed the blush and he was even more determined to solve that problem, however it could hardly be done with Zack there. "Lazard controls your pay, as for Angeal's training, I doubt that would go over well."

He was Angeal's senior and friend however that only held so much sway. It would not be taken well if he dismissed Zack's training, the General or not. "I will consider the last if that is what it shall take for the destruction of that book."

He may even have considered pulling as many strings as he could for whatever the boy desired if it meant the destruction of Genesis' entire collection dedicated to that damnable book. He had been victim to too many of his rants, and his ability to tell Genesis exactly which act any line came from was not a talent developed without the pain of hearing it again and again. If it were in his power he would be highly tempted to ban the play and work from the entire planet.

How Angeal grew up with Genesis and hadn't killed him yet for spouting that dribble was beyond his comprehension. Unfortunately at that moment Cloud left and he no longer could watch the young blond. It would be best to be rid of Angeal's puppy quickly or else his watching would be quite interrupted.
