Nero stepped out of the elevator rather awkwardly. They did not usually let him leave the Deepground Sect, and usually it was not for over a few minutes. He was hidden from society. They were all hidden from society. So of course, it was only natural, that he jumped at the chance of this mission. While he was not exactly sure what his requirements were (they usually were sent to his phone) he was excited. He didn't know why either. For all he knew this "Zack Fair" could be exactly how they described surface dwellers. Selfish, greedy bastards who deserved to be maimed, beaten and burned.

But he knew better than to listen to their lies. Weiss taught him that.

That was another agonizing thought... Being away from Weiss for several weeks would be hard on them both, but he knew it had to be done. Nero needed to rise in the Deepground ranks if he wanted to stay close to Weiss, who was already above him. With three steps down the hallway he realized he had no idea where he was going... Another sigh seemed to be released and before he knew it he had flipped open his phone and opened the map of the place. Alright, SOLDIER rooms are... He blinked, these maps were more complicated than the ones he had - How many floors were there!? He blinked and tried to figure out where he was. "Damnit." He muttered.

Zack was walking out of level 49 training room when he saw Kunsel who was running towards the elevator obviously late on a mission deployment.
"Check your phone! New mission!" The know it all shouted before vanishing into the elevator.

Zack pulled out his phone and flipped it open, he was still grateful to this day Kunsel taught him how to use this he wasn't a technology buff. He came from a small country town where Cellphones were a luxury and expensive. But in the city it seemed they were life and a requirement.
"A team up mission huh?" He read over the mission brief.
Bringing up the contact information he sent this 'Nero' a SMS.

"On level 49 meet me in the common area we can deploy then. Just got some paperwork to sign off on real quick."

Nero moved the phone very close to his face to examine the map when a text suddenly popped up from nowehere. Unknown number. "Doesn't even bother to give his name... at least it fits Zack's description." He muttered. Floor 49. He suddenly looked around to see what floor he was on. He was high up so he was probably in the four--... His mind stopped. He was on floor 3. Oh, Nero blinked. He looked outside the window for a moment. He was going to have to get used to this brave new world. He turned heal and stepped into the elevator. Inside, he stared at all the buttons. He poked 49 and it lit up. An undying urge to suddenly hit all the buttons made his hand twitch, but he brought his hand down and zoomed upwards. His eyes looked over to the window and he stared in awe. Is that what Outside looks like? A tinge of jealousy filled him as he realised "Zack" and the others had the right to enjoy that sight every single day of their lives, while he could not. It was not fair. But he had no right to complain.

His mind was sent ajar by the elevator opening up and he stepped out again. He read the text again and walked around aimlessly for several minutes before he found the common area. Or at least he hopped this was the place.

He opened a photo of the raven haired SOLDIER and looked around for a bit but to no avail.

Zack was scribbling his signature on this dotted line then that one, followed by another.
"So how long have you worked here?"
"Two weeks... Sign here... here... and here." The female clerk motioned.
Zack smiled at her. "Sooooo what do you do for fun after work?"
"Interoffice relations barely work out." She stated.
Zack inwardly sighed. So she was one of those types.
"Was just asking." He sighed the last document. "Later."

He walked out making his way down the corridor and looked to see the single figure standing there. From the back it looked like the guys he was supposed to be working with. He looked a little lost though.
"Nero?" he asked walking up to the man. "Hey I'm Zack."

Blood-red eyes turned to face the raven haired SOLDIER. He said nothing at first, his demonic eyes only flickering between his phone and the person in front of him until he was 100% affirmative that this man in fact was Zack Fair. His body shifted to a much more relaxed state and he offered a smile. His smile looked broken, crooked, but sincere. "Hello Zackary. I am, in fact, Nero. I suppose you are well aware of our mission together?" He wanted to ask more. He wanted to ask what rain felt like, or snow, or dirt.... or even what colour the sun was. But he had time for that later. He tried to calm himself down - and of course it was working. In Deepground one must learn how to fake every emotion. The face was a mask. He held that broken smile for a bit longer and barely even noticed as the conversation fell to an extremely awkward silence. His smile wasn't helping.

"I do enjoy the elevator sound effects." He blurted out and stared out th window in a tense fashion. He was absent minded at best. He wondered if Weiss knew what outside was. Nero didn't, and was always told him everything. Well, not everything but almost everything. He was lost in a comparative train of thought when another bing sounded. He didn't seem to notice the doors of the elevators and such he merely stood there for a while.

He even pulled out his phone to take a picture.

Nero looked over. "I don't think I have the authority to tell you. And I don't believe you have the authority to know. Sorry, I hope that's not a problem. I suppose it might be since I know you're from Gongaga, two parents, single child, not too much money and you're a Second Class SOLDIER under the guidance of Angeal Hewley, SOLDIER, First Class."

He spoke naturally and walked out on the helipad when the doors opened. "Where now?"

Nero did as he was told almost too robotically. He slipped in, placed his headset on and then his 'seat belt'. His eyes staring at Zack for a moment. There was no hate in his eyes but almost a soft sense of jealousy was found. He spoke into the microphone lightly. "I'm sorry I can't tell you anything besides my name. I would, honestly, if they weren't going to shoot me down for it." His eyes soon shifted to the window as the helicopter began taking off. A somewhat sad look seemed to take his face as he began reminiscing. His whole life had been nothing but ShinRa... he wondered if he could... escape?

Zack watched the man and he frowned. They would kill him, that was some organization. He hoped he would never met them.
"That's okay. I'm sure we'll get along, even if you can't tell me if you like strawberry or chocolate, because they'd have an anal attack."

The Helicopter took them out of Midgar, and over towards the eastern side of the continent towards the grasslands area.
"Mission is in Grasslands." Zack stated more to himself flipping out his phone. He was about to ask what Nero's company had out that way but stopped himself. His own curiosity could probably get him killed by whoever it was that sent this man to him.

"I've never had strawberries. My brother managed to sneak in chocolate for me, from the outside. I suppose then my preferance is chocolate. But he called it dark chocolate. I don't know what that means." He spoke, mostly to himself, as the helicopter began to descend. They reached landing point and he grabbed the door handle and pulled it open. He hopped out gracefully and took a few steps out. His raven hair seemed to whip with the blades creating the wind. He barely managed to remember his headset before he tossed it on the seat and stared infront of him.

"We're looking for a hidden Wutai base somewhere here. We have no information on the specifics. We may be here for a few days: I have equipment to set up camp but we may have to hunt for food."

Zack's comment made him think. I suppose it is normal to ask people one does not know for help. The farmers will most likely ask us for money. People are greedy like that. If he wants information - he is paying. Nero needed his money to buy something for Weiss. He looked over to the raven and held out his phone. "Do you have a map of this area? I don't believe I was given the--" His voice was cut short with the sound of a beep. "Right on time..." He checked his mail, from Deepground. It was a map of the area, fully compatible with his GPS. That actually was a good thing.

He stayed silent, looking at his phone as a statue would.

Nero turned to look at his partner and soon turned his head to look over at Zack's direction of the Chocobo Farm. "I say we go to the Chocobo Farm first. We shouldn't set camp unless we need to. Tents may be nice to sleep in, but the cheap stuff they give us can only go up and down so many times before the whole thing breaks and we have to sleep outside. Although then I might be able to see a bug - that would be rather interesting, no?" Before he gave time for Zack to answer he started walking.

As he walked he leaned over and took a piece of grass. Still going forward, he started hitting himself in the face with it, a very confused expression plastered on his face as he did.

He stopped hitting himself in the face with the grass and looked up. "For free? A walk?" He took a second to process and nodded. "Yes, I suppose walking is good. Though I'm never allowed to leave my room, my legs may be stiff. Well, except when I'm allowed to shoot things, then I can move quite a bit." He looked around, "Zackary, why is it they call these blades of grass if they don't cut?" He began smacking himself in the face again with the grass, each time expecting the blade to hurt him. "I believe I may have found defective grass..."

"Yes, walking would be nice." He nodded and followed Zack. His eyes were focused on the grass. "Zackary, I do believe this grass is defective. It does not seem to be in the shape of a blade..." Of course it was an average piece of grass but he was expecting something a bit more. He ran up and showed the raven. "There is no handle, or materia sockets. This poor blade of grass is defective."

Nero examined the grass with a scowl. Well it made sense but - gah. The small blade of grass suddenly burst into darkness and disappeared. "I suppose that makes sense. But grass should come with materia sockets, that way if anyone actually uses a blade of grass, it would be good." He kept walking, not really realising how stupid he sounded.

His eyes saw a path leading up to the cliffside and he pointed to it. "It's on the map you got us, so it might be a common route... but that doesn't mean one of paths does not branch out to a hidden pathway."
