He had hardly noticed that the storm had continued to rage outside of the bedroom. With a smile he grabbed the duvet, dropping it over his lap with a tired but contented sigh.

He flopped back against the pillows, closing his eyes, still smiling. He'd let his father have his space to sleep - he wasn't the sort to curl up with someone, and this time it was okay. He'd be fine.

Sephiroth stared down at Kadaj's form as the eyes shut and rested against the bed. His eyes shut as he listened to Kadaj's breathing. It had been too long but he couldn't do this again. He couldn't let Kadaj do this for him. Things would need to be solved and figured out but that could be done better.

Lightly he stroked Kadaj's hair. "Good night Kadaj."

Kadaj leant into the touch with a sleepy smile. "Love you, dad," he yawned, rolling onto his side, facing him though his eyes never opened. His head nestled into the pillow and the duvet was pulled a little closer, and he was gone to the world.

It was the trickles of sunlight through the curtains that awoke him the next morning, and with a grumble he rolled over and pulled the duvet closer to his head, one arm flailing over his eyes. Kadaj's body slammed against his own and Sephiroth's gaze turned towards him. Lifting himself up he stood and fingers ran through the long hair mussed by sleep. Fingers tried to disentangle it before he stood and headed towards the closet to find the day's suit. "You need to get up Kadaj."

Sephiroth did not want to talk about this. He wanted to wash the memories from his mind and body if only to pretend that he had not given in like that. Kadaj gave a quiet grumble at being told to get up, but slowly complied, dragging himself up to sitting and pooling the duvet on his lap as he glanced around the room to figure where his pyjama pants had ended up.

"I know," he quietly agreed, rubbing the sleep with his eyes with a yawn. "It won't happen again, dad. Last night was... a set of circumstances that won't repeat, so there's nothing to suggest the actions would either."

He pushed down on the duvet a little more, trying to ignore the stiffened flesh. "Just don't beat yourself up over it. I initiated - took advantage, if you want to think of it that way. You were worked up and tired, and I preyed on it."

He knew it was a little more mutual than that, though it was still true what he was saying. For his father's sake, though, he was willing to take the blame.

No, Sephiroth knew he couldn't think that way. Kadaj was his son. And here Kadaj was telling him not to beat himself up over it. It seemed that he indeed knew his moods and thoughts very well. Sephiroth sighed as he stepped towards the adjoining bathroom and turned on the water before he let the spray run for a short while to warm.

"I have a father," he said very clearly. "I have a father who gave up his life to raise to me, even though he didn't really want me at the start. He's been there for me through everything and has never let me down when I've needed him. He's not that good at saying how he feels but I know that he loves me - the way a father should," he added, to make himself clear. "Last night we were two consenting adults providing each other the comfort and relief that we needed. If you used me then I used you too, Dad."

He lightly rest his hand on his father's arm, careful not to move too close while it was still awkward for him.

"If it's something that needs forgiveness then the only person who needs to decide if it's unforgivable or not is me... and I know you don't want to hear it but I enjoyed every second. So, you're forgiven, not that you need to be... but if it will put your mind at ease..."

The suit was hung on the back of the door as the boxers were thrown to the side and Sephiroth turned back to his son, his hand on his arm. This was not the way it should be, however he was not the best judge on how a father should be either. All his had cared about was his precious sciences and his childhood was something he never delved into. It was easier that way however when it came to being a father he had nothing to base it on.

Kadaj should not be the one saying those things. Even if he felt no guilt for what had passed between him Sephiroth knew it had been wrong. He had to dismiss the fact that he had enjoyed it. In the end he felt dirty for it as much as he wanted that touch to return.

Sephiroth said nothing as he stepped under the scalding spray. It burned at his skin but it didn't matter. It was better if it burned the feel of the touch away. Nothing was helping that though. Eyes shut as the water drenched the long hair and it fell around him, the drenched strands against his skin.
