Mission Blues [M] [Closed]

Exhaustion had pulled at him for far too long, even with his return to Midgar there was something off, there always was. The lower ranks saluted but there wasn't a word from the man. Not yet at least. One hand waved them to carry on before his attention focused on the elevator. An escape, certainly one that he craved. The doors quickly opened, but not soon enough, and Sephiroth was gone in an instant before he selected the floor for his apartment.

Exhaustion made his shoulders sag once he was out of sight from all the men. The mission had been a failure, one that fell on his shoulders. Many were injured, some died, all because of faulty information. But at the end of the day it was on his conscience.

There was nothing to be done however. Sephiroth's gaze settled forward as eyes searched out the floors. The numbers quickly grew until finally they stopped and the doors slid open. His body was drawn tall again, an attempt to be the General even around his firsts. He could never let them see the weakness as it wavered. And slowly he drew closer to his own apartment.

Angeal was enjoying the peace of having a day off, it was the first in a long time, although he was spending it alone. Sephiroth was due back any time though, he uh adn't heard from him since he'd left, while that wasn't unusual, he'd had a niggling feeling about it and was anxious to see Sephiroth home safe. He kept peering from his own apartment to see if there was any sign of Sephiroth's return yet. At his latest glance he saw the silver haired SOLDIER coming down the corridor, so he left his own to greet him.

Angeal smiled warmly to the redhead as he approached, his attention turning to him instantly, "Alright?" he asked as he returned the kiss to his cheek softly, his fingers entwining with Genesis' for a moment.

Angeal chuckled softly, shaking his head to himself as he wrapped his arms around his boyfriend, just to hold him close, "Nothing new there then huh?" he smiled fondly to him, his eyes turning to Sephiroth, "How did it go?" he asked as he looked him over, just to make sure that he was alright.

Angeal frowned as he regarded his friend, he was trying to hide his exhaustion, but Angeal could see beyond the stoic façade; he let go of Genesis, moving to wrap his arm around Sephiroth, to help keep him upright as much as offering some comfort; it was never easy when missions went wrong. “Let’s get inside hm?” he suggested.

Angeal smiled warmly to Sephiroth heading inside the apartment with him and Genesis, "Want to get some drinks?" he asked his love, Sephiroth looked like he needed several, and he was never averse to one either, as long as he wasn't on duty. "How did it go wrong?" he asked Sephiroth.

Angeal chuckled softly and shook his head to himself, "Behave yourself Genesis," he warned although there was no sternness behind his tone, "Don't push him into anything," he told him as he helped himself to a seat. He considered Sephiroth's words, misinformation, accidental or on purpose cost lives. They were First Class, the elite of the elite, they should be able to protect those who were with them on missions, it never happened that way, but Sephiroth was the best, expectatons on him were set so high, it frustrated and irritated Angeal at how much they pushed on his younger friend, but nothing would change it.

"If I could control him, he would get into a lot less trouble a lot less often," Angeal commented with a chuckle, shaking his head, "I'll do my best to make sure that he doesn't...get up to anything untoward," he promised, smiling fondly to his redhaired lover.
